Welcome to JDC!

Please log in or sign up.

My favorite part of laws is how open to interpretation they are

Some of you may have witnessed a minor "incident" happening on a certain duel server in the not-too-distant past. Therefore I'd like to make a small statement.

The 8th rule of duels states "Please be honest about your scores" and I think that this should also include being honest with yourself! ;-)

It is advised to not cycle to another level in the middle of a JDC duel with the reasoning "bcs u r fucker" and call your opponent a "FKN BITCH". JDC encourages friendly competition and good sportsmanship!

A7med receives -10 points for this infraction.

Round 3 challenge

Welcome to round 3! You know the drill by now; extra points as long as you complete a task. This time most of you probably won't even have to put any additional effort into it: all you have to do is win team games with at least 10 different partners on your team.

The matches can be either 2on2 or 3on3 and played in any game mode. In 3on3 matches, both of your partners count towards your total, so as long as you always choose unique partners, you can finish the challenge in just 5 3on3 matches.

Instagib event rescheduled

Hi everybody. I'm sorry to say that due to a combination of personal life and technical issues with the server, today's event has been rescheduled to Monday. Apologies to everyone inconvenienced by this decision.

Round 3 is up

Several hours late, but I've set up round 3. Congratulations to Jety for winning the round again.

I've made a small change in the scoring - the bonus pool is now slightly smaller, but it has a bigger effect on your match score. This is because not many players have been using the bonus points in full, and this change should make it easier for everybody to get more points.

Expect updates from SE regarding the round challenge.

Enjoy round 3!

Scoring update

I have finally submitted the scores of Saturday's Jailbreak 2017 event. Congratulations to Krzysiek for winning the event!

For those who could not have attended: what I did was instead of playing one round in one level till 5, I decided to do several rounds in one level till 1. This way we did 20 games of Jailbreak total as opposed to the usual 5 or 6. I think I definitely prefer this way of doing Jailbreak. ;-)

What about everybody else?

JDCE Round 2

JDCE has eliminated 7 players and there are eight remaining. Congratulations to those who passed. You can see the next matchups HERE.

What do I need to do? Play a match against the next opponent in the tournament tree, continuously. Also, please submit up to TWO vetoes from the 9 levels in the mappool (below) into the comments section of this post. You will NOT be allowed to change your veto after your first match.

How are the duels to be done? The duels are to be up to 5 points and will NOT be time-based. Remember to take screenshots of your duels.

What is the mappool for the JDCE knockout stage? You are suggested but not limited to these maps if your opponent agrees otherwise;

  • Dilapidation (xlmdilap)

  • Gauntlet (gauntlet)

  • Happy Semiconductor CTF (elmhsemi)

  • Minimal Duel (navctf01)

  • Moonlit Harbor (olcbat06)

  • Starlit CTF (pluctf02)

  • Swingin' Jazz (bbswing)

  • The Astrolabe (ezastro)

  • Wicked Wood (xlmww)

Note: Whoever has more JDC points has to pick first.

How are the duels scored? Duels for the knockout-stage are score-based and not round-based. If the game is a tie overall (eg. 5-2 and 2-5; 7-7 is not possible unless two matches were played), then a tiebreaker is necessary and each player will in turn veto levels until there is one level remaining from the pool. Whoever has more JDC points will veto first. Duels must be submitted to JDC with the JDCE tag at the end.

How is the rest of the tournament structured? The tournament is a double elimination format, meaning if you lose you will be moved to the lower bracket and are only out if you lose twice.

A final note: JDCE will award a grand total of 175 points to the winner.

Round 2 challenge

Round 2 has started, and with it comes a new challenge! This time you are asked to win in 5 of the following levels:

Since it requires more victories, you can also expect it to be worth more points at the end of the round. Good luck!

Edit: I hoped this wouldn't require clarification but you're allowed to play in any game size from duel to 3on3, however you have to play in the game mode the level was made for. No battle duels in The Astrolabe please.

JDC: A New Beginning 2: Requiem

A week has passed since the season started, which means it's time to hit the reset button and begin another round.

Congratulations to Jety for narrowly winning round 1 with 252 points!

A new JDC round also means a new JDCE round. Ragnarok will keep you tuned with new developments...

A new round challenge is also up, thanks to Sir Ementaler. It's about ten times as crazy as the previous one! If you're a fan of winning in obscure levels, or just a fan of winning period, this challenge is right for you. (I swear that I didn't ask SE to put my level in it)

Keep on dueling!

JDCE begins!

Hello duellists, this newspost marks the start of JDCE. We have 15 entrants, resulting in a group stage. There will be five groups of 3 players viewable below. Please read the rules carefully.

Group 1 Group 2 Group 3 Group 4 Group 5
KRSplat Lahm Krzysiek Ragnarok P-F
Firerabbit moti A7med Smoke Hyperion
tictac Rew Lazzaro PurpleJazz cooba

So what do I need to do? Please play a match against each opponent in your group (it’s as simple as that).

How are the duels to be done? The duels are to be up to 5 points and will NOT be time-based. Remember to take screenshots of your duels and post them with our new system.

How are we meant to pick levels? If you can agree on a level between you, then that’s great. However, I imagine that being harder to achieve in practice, so each player can choose one map each and submit both duels separately. You are permitted to pick the colour in your opponent’s map choice and vice-versa.

What is the mappool for the JDCE group stage? You are suggested but not limited to these maps if your opponent agrees otherwise;

Epitome (mlynepitome)

Gauntlet (gauntlet)

Scrapyard (xlmscrapyard)

Superconductor CTF (elmsuper)

Swingin’ Jazz (bbswing)

Tyuka’s Realm Forsaken (olctrf)

Moonlit Harbor (olcbat06)

Please note that the mappool will CHANGE after the group stage. You are able to impact this change by voting your top 3 maps in the comments below (if you are participating). You will be allowed to veto maps next round, but there will be no vetoing for the group stage.

How are the duels scored? Duels for the group-stage are score-based and not round-based. If the game is a tie overall (eg. 5-2 and 2-5; 7-7 is not possible unless two matches were played), then submit it as such.

Who goes to the next round? The top performer in each group will definitely pass to the knockout stage. The top 3 performers of the 2nd places in each group will also pass to the next stage, leaving a total of 8 players for a knockout format.

What if you can’t do your duel? Post a comment here below and inform me of the situation.

Do I submit my duels to JDC? Yes, you must, and label the match with “[JDCE]” at the end of the levelname (of both if applicable).

PLEASE NOTE that the rules/mappool are subject to change once we reach a knockout stage of the tournament.

Starting from this season, it's obligatory to include a screenshot when submitting a duel.

There will be no exceptions, so don't forget to press that F12 button!
