About JDC
What is JDC?
JDC is a competition for all Jazz Jackrabbit 2 players. It has been running for over 25 years and 35 seasons.
You can take part in JDC in many ways, such as duels, team games, and events. It is also possible to get your custom levels featured in JDC.
To participate in JDC, you need to install the community patch called JJ2+. Get it here.
How to win?
The goal of JDC is to get the most points in a season. You can do this in three ways:
1. Play random games against other competitors.
Any JDC player can fight another JDC player whenever they want, on any level they want. Try meeting in one of the dedicated servers, or the JDC Discord server.
2. Play special games as part of one of the Leagues.
Leagues are optional tournaments, running parallel to JDC. Contrary to JDC, leagues follow strict rules about maps, server settings, and who is your opponent. You can find more info here.
3. Play in events organised by JDC officials.
An event is any game that is not a match. They are typically hosted by officials or administrators. They can involve any number of players, and can be any gamemode.
Rules
1. Be civil.
We're all just people playing a niche game from 1998. Don't stir up unnecessary trouble. If some problem needs to be addressed, contact an official or administrator.
2. Be honest.
Try to not to "play smart" with the scoring system, and don't cheat. JDC is meant to be fun, if you try too hard to win, it's not fun - for everyone.
3. Don't make it weird.
We tend to be very laid back in terms of "censorship" but we also have our limits. If an official or administrator tells you to stop whatever you're doing, it's a good sign to stop.
If the staff finds you breaking these rules, you may:
- Lose some JDC points
- Be temporarily banned from an event
- Be permanently banned from JDC
