Leagues
What are Leagues?
Leagues are optional tournaments, running parallel to JDC. As opposed to the freedom provided by JDC, leagues are running in a tournament setup, and have a limited number of levels that can be chosen. (This is called a map pool.)
Players interested in joining a league can sign up at the beginning of the season and play each other a number of times until one player remains and becomes the champion of that league.
There can be several leagues running at one time, and a player can sign up to any number of leagues.
Winning a league provides a large number of points to the player's overall score for that season, which can potentially make the difference for JDC's own ranking!
How to play?
Check the tournament standings to see who your next opponent is, and contact them about playing your match. Every league will have its own matchups and standings linked to on this page.
Please also be sure to join the JDC Discord server to receive updates about the league and stay in touch with your opponents.
Duel League
Compete with other players in a 1vs1 duel tournament! Unlike regular JDC duels where you can choose which player to duel, your opponents are selected for you in a tournament bracket setup.
There will be a prize pool of JDC points awarded to every participant in the Duel League, but the better you do in the tournament, the more JDC points you will earn!
If you are taking part in the Duel League, please go to this link here to see who your next opponent is:

Please note that this Double Elimination, meaning that if you lose a match, you get another chance before you are eliminated, but it does mean you will have more duels to play as you will be relegated to the Lower Bracket. If you lose a second time while in the Lower Bracket, then you get eliminated from the Duel League.
Rules
You will challenge your opponent to a best of 3 series of duels. You must both each choose a map from the tournament mappool, which is as follows:
Mappool
Battle Levels
- Dilapidation (xlmdilap.j2l)
- Moonlit Harbor (olcbat06.j2l)
- Rúnheimr (serun.j2l)
- Port Royal (xlmportroyal.j2l)
- Titan Armory (eztitan.j2l)
- Triton Armory (xlmtriton.j2l)
CTF Levels
- All Your Base CTF (olcallurbase.j2l)
- Distopia (evilmike211.j2l)
- Re-Purposed Offshore Platform (rpop.j2l)
- Scrapyard (xlmscrapyard.j2l)
- The Astrolabe (ezastro.j2l)
- The World Spear (ezspear.j2l)
- Wicked Wood (xlmww.j2l)
You are not allowed to choose any maps other than from the map list above.
You are allowed to ban (veto) up to two levels from the list. What this means is that you are banning the map from being chosen in your duels (by either you or your opponents). Please note you must announce your bans before playing your first match, and these cannot be changed later.
Whoever has the most JDC points out of you or your opponent gets to chose which map gets played first, once you have both chosen a map to play. Ideally you should do /cstart and then announce your maps together at the same time after the countdown.
You are only allowed to chose the same map a maximum of two times throughout the Duel League. So you will need to pick wisely!
You can see what maps have been chosen and what maps have been banned at this link:
You can duel on any server, but all duels must be played with these settings:
- /timelimit 15
- /maxscore 5
- /allowmouseaim off
- /capturewait on
- /fireball on
- /strongpowerups off
- /mutualinjury on
- /overtime on
- /otlimit 15
You can chose to play Triton Armory with /noshields on, but only if both you and your opponent agree to do so.
If you are playing on a CTF map, then the player who didn't pick the map gets to chose whether they want to be Blue or Red.
After you have played a duel on each of your maps, if one player won both games then they are the winner, and they advance in the tournament. If however you each won one game, then you will need to play a third duel as a tiebreaker.
In order to select a map to play in a tiebreaker, you will each take it in turns to ban a map from the mappool until only one remains, then you will play together on this map. Please note that your normal map "bans" don't apply during this tiebreaker stage. Whoever has more JDC points gets to chose whether they pick first or second.
However you can skip this process if you and your opponent are in agreement to duel in a specific map. Note that the usual maximum of two picks per map doesn't apply here.
Submit your Matches
Once your duels have been completed, you will need to submit them to PurpleJazz by letting him know the following:
- What maps were played
- Who picked which map
- What the scores were on each map
Supporting screenshots as evidence are appreciated if you have these.
You are allowed to also submit the Duel League matches as regular JDC duels through the use of the !startrankedjdc command in the Zeal Multiplayer servers. If you do so, you will need to let PurpleJazz know which duels were for the Duel League.
You can get in touch with PurpleJazz on the JDC Discord server.
It is up to you to contact your opponent. You will need to contact them and arrange a suitable date and time for you to play your duels.
Please note that the deadline for the first round duels is Sunday 13th September at 23:59 GMT+1. If you cannot play before then, please let PurpleJazz or another JDC Administrator know as soon as possible. If someone is a no-show by then, they will be forfeited from the Duel League unless they have let someone know in advance.
After completing your first duel, you will get +1 week to complete each duel after this. Please try and arrange your duels as soon as possible though.
If there are any issues to raise or if you have any other questions, please get in touch with a JDC Administrator.
Good luck, and happy duelling!
